DMU’s Prof. Ashraf Khalil Publishes in a 10% Top-Ranked International Pharmacy Journal

The College of Pharmacy at Dubai Medical University (DMU) announces the publication of a new research article by Prof. Ashraf Khalil, Professor of Medicinal Chemistry in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at College of Pharmacy – Dubai Medical University, in Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy — a prestigious, peer-reviewed journal published by Elsevier.

The article, titled Design, synthesis and biological evaluation of novel chalcone analogs against castration-resistant prostate cancer, explores novel chalcone analogs as potential therapy for castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC). The study represents a significant contribution to the fields of medicinal chemistry and drug discovery, advancing scientific understanding of how chemical agents interact with biological targets in the context of disease management. The study findings suggest that thienyl-pyridine-based chalcones may serve as promising lead compounds against CRPC; thus, further in vitro and in vivo studies are warranted.

Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy is a Q1 Scopus-indexed journal and ranks among the top 10% of journals globally in the fields of pharmacology and pharmaceutical sciences, with a CiteScore of 11.6 and an Impact Factor exceeding 7.8.
