General Education (GE) at DMU

The General Education (GE) Unit at Dubai Medical University (DMU) provides students with a broad foundation of knowledge, skills, and values that complements their specialized programs. Through carefully designed courses, GE equips students with the competencies necessary to succeed as professionals, leaders, and lifelong learners.

GE enables every DMU graduate to appreciate the social, cultural, ethical, scientific, and global dimensions of health and healthcare. It also strengthens key competencies—including communication, critical thinking, evidence-based practice, digital literacy, quantitative reasoning, teamwork, professionalism, and lifelong learning—that are essential for delivering patient-centered care.
