DMU’s Faculty Speaks at an International Artificial Intelligence in Pharmacy Symposium

August 5, 2026, Prof. Dr. Sathvik Belagodu Sridhar, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacy Practice, College of Pharmacy, Dubai Medical University, participated as an invited resource person at the One-Day International Symposium on Artificial Intelligence in Pharmaceutical Sciences, held on 31 July 2026 at C.L. Baid Mehta College of Pharmacy, Chennai, Tamil Nadu,  India.

The symposium brought together students and faculty members representing 18 colleges across Tamil Nadu, together with pharmacists and experts from the pharmaceutical industry. The program created a multidisciplinary platform for academic exchange, professional networking, and discussion on the expanding role of artificial intelligence across pharmaceutical education, research, clinical practice, drug development, and medication safety.

During the invited session titled “Right Drug, Right Dose, Right Patient: Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Precision Pharmacotherapy and Medication Safety,” Prof. Dr. Sathvik highlighted how artificial intelligence can support patient-specific treatment decisions, improve dose individualization, identify medication-related risks, and strengthen clinical decision-making. The session also emphasized the importance of combining technological innovation with professional judgement, ethical practice, reliable clinical evidence, and patient-centered care.

The symposium provided an excellent opportunity to promote collaboration between academia, pharmacy professionals, and industry. It also reinforced the need to prepare future pharmacists with the knowledge and skills required to use artificial intelligence responsibly for precision pharmacotherapy, medication safety, and improved patient outcomes.

The event enabled meaningful engagement with participants from 18 colleges, pharmacists, and pharmaceutical industry experts, while strengthening academic and professional collaboration in AI-enabled pharmacy practice.
