Dubai Medical University (DMU) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UAE Integrative Medicine Council (UAEIMC) at the Al Shifaa Summit for Integrative Medicine 2026, held at ADNEC Centre, Abu Dhabi, from 20 to 22 October.

The agreement reinforces DMU’s commitment to advancing integrative medicine through academic and professional education, research, and the scientific investigation of medicinal plants and traditional knowledge. It also supports national efforts to strengthen evidence-based integrative healthcare and deepen collaboration between academic institutions and healthcare stakeholders.

Prof. Sherief Khalifa, Vice Chancellor – Academic Affairs at Dubai Medical University, commented: “Our vision in establishing the UAE’s first Department of Integrative Medicine is to advance a model of healthcare that brings together modern Western medicine and traditional practices in a safe, responsible, and evidence-based manner. Through education, research, and clinical integration, we aim to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge, skills, and qualifications needed to support better patient care and outcomes.”
