Second-year Doctor of Pharmacy students at Dubai Medical University (DMU) – College of Pharmacy participated in an enriching educational visit to Julphar (Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries), organized and supervised by Prof. Bazigha Abdul Rasool, Head of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department, as part of the Dosage Forms course.
The visit provided valuable early exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing, dosage form production, and in-process quality control, helping students connect classroom knowledge with real-world applications and appreciate the pharmacist’s vital role in ensuring medicine quality and patient safety.
Reflecting on the experience, PharmD student Waniya Fatima, Class Representative, shared:
“My visit to Julphar was an enjoyable and educational experience. It was fascinating to see how medicines are manufactured and how what we learn in class is applied in real life. The visit gave me a better understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and made me even more excited about studying pharmacy.”
Senior pharmacy students Sham Hamoud, Aya Albakour, and Lilav Ausi also contributed by sharing insights from their previous industrial training at Julphar, promoting valuable peer-to-peer learning.
Finally, we sincerely appreciate the Julphar team, particularly Dr. Rasha Ahmed, Head of Inspection Readiness & Quality Culture, and Mr. Mohammed Omar Faruq, Training Coordinator, for their warm hospitality and valuable support.
