Dubai Medical University (DMU) had the privilege of hosting Dr. Gerry Nastasia, Medical Director of Emirates European Medical Centre and a distinguished chiropractic physician with expertise in non-surgical spine and musculoskeletal care, as part of the University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration in the field of Integrative Medicine.
The visit was organized by the Department of Integrative Medicine, College of Pharmacy, reflecting the University’s commitment to promoting interdisciplinary healthcare education and expanding opportunities for collaboration with leading practitioners in complementary and integrative health disciplines.
During his visit, Dr. Nastasia delivered an engaging and informative session on Chiropractic Medicine to students from various health professions programs at DMU. The session introduced students to the principles of chiropractic care, evidence-based approaches to the management of musculoskeletal disorders, and the role of chiropractic medicine within modern integrative healthcare systems.
Commenting on the visit, Dr. Naglaa Saad, Head of the Department of Integrative Medicine, stated: “This visit reflects our commitment to exposing students to evidence-based integrative healthcare practices and fostering collaboration with experts from diverse healthcare disciplines.”

The visit also provided an opportunity to explore future avenues of collaboration between Dubai Medical University and healthcare professionals working in integrative and complementary medicine. Such collaborations support DMU’s vision of fostering innovation, interdisciplinary learning, and evidence-based healthcare practices.
