Admission Requirements
Master in Health Profession Education (Master/Diploma) Program

1. Academic Qualifications

  • A recognized bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a health professions-related field (e.g., Medicine,    Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Allied Health Sciences).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 – scale or equivalent.
  • For non-GPA grading systems please obtain a course-by-course evaluation from an Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or http://www.ece.org or World Education Services (WES) https://www.wes.org/
  • For degrees obtained outside the UAE please obtain ECEhttp://www.ece.org or WES https://www.wes.org/

All prospective applicants seeking admission must undergo the process of obtaining equivalency/recognition for their educational degrees through the UAE Ministry of Education. The attestation procedure varies depending on whether the degree was earned within or outside the UAE. Details regarding the Equivalency/Recognition requirements for certificates obtained within or outside the UAE can be accessed through the Ministry of Education https://www.moe.gov.ae/En/EServices/Pages/ServiceCatalog.aspx.

    Conditional Admission:

An applicant holding a recognized bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, or its established equivalent, may be granted conditional admission to the master program. During the conditional admission period, the applicant must fulfill the following requirements to maintain enrollment in the program; failure to do so may result in withdrawal from the program.

      a. May register for a maximum of nine (9) credit hours during the first semester of study.
      b. Must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in the first semester. If this GPA is not attained, the university reserves the right to withdraw the student from the program

2. Professional Experience

  • At least one year of professional experience in health professions education, clinical practice, academic teaching, or administration in a healthcare or educational institution.
  • Preference is given to applicants currently involved in teaching or training in health professions education.

3. English Language Proficiency

  • For applicants who’s medium of instruction in previous degrees was not English:
    • IELTS score of 6.0 or above, or
    • TOEFL iBT score of 79 or above, or
    • Equivalent score from a recognized English proficiency test.
  • Exemption from English proficiency requirement may be granted if prior education was in English & formally documented.

4. Personal Statement

  • A written statement (500–750 words) outlining the applicant’s:
    • Motivation for pursuing the MHPE program.
    • Career goals in health professions education.
    • Relevant experience and how the program aligns with their professional development.

5. Letters of Recommendation

A letter of recommendation from academic or professional supervisors, attesting to the applicant’s:

  • Academic capability
  • Professional commitment
  • Suitability for graduate study in education

6. Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  • A current CV detailing academic background, work experience, professional activities, & achievements

7. Interview

Shortlisted candidates may be invited for a personal or virtual interview to assess:

  • Communication skills
  • Commitment to health professions education
  • Alignment with the program’s objectives
