On June 10, Dr. Arina Ziganshina, Head of the Examination and Assessment Unit at Dubai Medical University (DMU), participated as a panelist in an international webinar titled “Strengthening Assessments – Ensuring Integrity and Reliability in High-Stakes Digital Exams,” hosted by Turnitin.
Drawing from DMU’s extensive experience in digital assessment, Dr. Arina shared practical insights into the advantages of technology-enhanced evaluations. She highlighted key benefits such as fostering academic integrity, reducing faculty workload, and generating valuable data that supports multiple educational and institutional objectives.
Dr. Arina emphasized that the successful integration of digital technologies in examinations requires a strong foundation, including comprehensive user orientation, expert technical supervision, and continuous evaluation and improvement. She also outlined how DMU has adapted its policies and procedures to align with advances in digital assessments.
During the webinar, Dr. Arina offered valuable strategies for integrating technology into performance-based assessments and assignments. She also showcased how data generated by examination software is used at DMU to benefit students, faculty, and university leadership—through item analysis, student feedback, educational process evaluation, KPI monitoring, and mentoring within a competency-based education framework.
