Riyadh, Saudi Arabia | September 2–5, 2026 — Dr. Bassam Atallah, Associate Dean – Clinical Affairs, College of Pharmacy, Dubai Medical University, participated in the 6^th Annual Conference of the Saudi Society of Clinical Pharmacy (SSCP) in Riyadh, bringing together clinical pharmacy, academia, practice, and research leaders from across the region.

Dr. Atallah delivered a presentation entitled “Developing the Next Generation of Clinical Pharmacy Leaders: Building Sustainable Clinical, Academic and Research Excellence,” highlighting the importance of developing future clinical pharmacy leaders and building sustainable excellence across clinical practice, academia, and research. DMU specific initiatives were also highlighted in the session including strategies to upskilling pharmacy preceptors such as the preceptor certificate program offered by the college of pharmacy in collaboration with the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).

He also served as a panelist in the session “Empowering Gulf Cooperation Council Clinical Pharmacy.” The panel brought together pharmacy practice, academic, and clinical research leaders from across the GCC, who highlighted the importance of collaboration, knowledge exchange, and regional partnerships in advancing clinical pharmacy practice and strengthening the profession across the Gulf region.
