DUBAI (March 2026) – Dubai Medical University (DMU) introduces its “Classroom Without Walls” initiative through a unified AI-powered platform, enabling students to learn from anywhere across campus.
Led by Dr. Shifan Khanday, Head of the AI and Smart Education Unit, and Eng. Hessa Lootah, AI and Innovation Lead at SALCF, the initiative integrates AI, AR, VR, and metaverse technologies into a single digital ecosystem.
The platform allows students to access learning modules, engage in immersive simulations, and participate in collaborative virtual sessions with real-time feedback—regardless of location.
During the pilot phase, embryology sessions utilized interactive 3D visualizations, helping students better understand complex developmental processes while learning at their own pace.
“This initiative enhances accessibility and transforms how students experience learning,” said Dr. Khanday.
Students reported improved engagement, flexibility, and comfort when learning beyond traditional classroom settings.
The initiative reflects DMU’s commitment to innovation in medical education and supports the UAE’s vision for AI-driven, future-ready learning.
