DMU Students Showcase Research and App Innovation at Khalifa University Longevity Conference

Student from Dubai Medical University (DMU) presented an innovative project at the Longevity Conference hosted by Khalifa University, demonstrating how student research can evolve into practical digital health solutions.

The project, titled “Colored Noise as a Non-Pharmacological Intervention for Sleep, Stress, and Healthy Aging: A Narrative Review,” was conducted by DMU studentNaba Hassan Hadi Almumareta and Aya Bchar Kanani from University of Sharjah under the supervision and original work on colored noise by Dr. Shifan Khanday Associate Dean of Research and Head of AI and Smart Education unit . The work explored how different forms of colored noise, including white, pink, and brown noise, may improve sleep quality, reduce stress levels, and support healthy aging.

During the conference presentation, the application was displayed on a tablet next to the research poster, allowing participants to experience how the scientific evidence could be translated into a practical digital wellness tool.

The project reflects Dubai Medical University’s emphasis on interdisciplinary student research and innovation, encouraging students to move beyond theoretical study and develop real-world digital health solutions. The collaboration with the University of Sharjah further highlights the value of cross-institutional partnerships in advancing student-led innovation in healthcare and longevity research.
