Dubai Medical University (DMU) announces the successful completion of the “Communication Skills for Interprofessional Practice” course — marking the first phase (Exposure Phase) of the University’s Interprofessional Education (IPE) journey.

Students from the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy came together in a collaborative and engaging learning environment, guided by faculty from multiple disciplines. Through teamwork, creativity, and applied learning, they gained valuable experience in effective communication across professional boundaries — a cornerstone of collaborative healthcare practice.

As part of this initiative, students also participated in their first Interprofessional Onsite Experience collaboration with Dubai Medical University Hospital, where they practiced communication and teamwork through role-plays and other interactive activities.

This course marks a foundational step in DMU’s mission to foster a culture of “learning together to work together,” preparing future healthcare professionals who communicate, collaborate, and care as one team.
