Dr. Sathvik Sridhar joins DMU College of Pharmacy

Dubai Medical University College of Pharmacy is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Sathvik B. Sridhar, B.Pharm, M.Pharm (Pharmacy Practice), Ph.D. (Pharmacy Practice), to the College of Pharmacy. Dr. Sathvik brings over 26 years of academic, research, and administrative experience in pharmacy education and practice, gained across India, Malaysia, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Dr. Sathvik earned his B. Pharm from Bangalore University, his M. Pharm in Pharmacy Practice from JSS College of Pharmacy under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, and his Ph.D. in Pharmacy Practice from the same institution. In addition, he has completed specialized training in Clinical Research and Pharmacovigilance, including professional training at the Uppsala Monitoring Centre in Sweden.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Sathvik held academic and clinical appointments at the International Medical University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and at JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysore, India, where he contributed meaningfully to clinical pharmacy education, training, and research. He has also undergone specialized training in Renal Clinical Pharmacy in Adelaide, Australia, further enriching his expertise in clinical pharmacy and specialized pharmaceutical care. His career reflects a strong blend of international, regional, and local academic experience, together with a sustained commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and academic service.

A highly accomplished scholar and mentor, Dr. Sathvik has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications, contributed more than 20 book chapters, and published 9 books. He is also the holder of multiple international patents, including German patent certifications related to pharmaceutical innovations. His academic mentorship includes supervision of over 35 MSc theses, more than 50 undergraduate research projects, and doctoral research. In addition, he has served on advisory boards, scientific committees, and ethics and academic review bodies. His contributions to higher education and research have been recognized through several national and international honors, including the Eminent Teacher Award.

With his experience and record in teaching, scholarship, and service, Dr. Sathvik’s appointment serves to further strengthen Dubai Medical University’s mission to advance excellence in pharmacy and health professions education.
