Our Commitment

At Dubai Medical University (DMU), we are committed to creating an inclusive and empowering learning environment for all students, including Students of Determination. Accessible Facilities

DMU’s campus is designed to provide full accessibility and comfort for Students of Determination.

Mobility & Accessibility:

• Step-free access to all buildings, ramps, and elevators.
• Designated accessible parking spaces close to entrances.
• Tactile paths, clear signage, and visual contrast for ease of navigation.
• Accessible restrooms and prayer facilities across campus.
• Reserved parking spaces close to main entrances for ease of access
• Wheelchairs provided upon request.
• Ramps are available across campus for smooth wheelchair and mobility access.
• Elevators are available in all buildings.
• The university assists in arranging necessary classroom modifications to ensure accessibility if required.

Learning Spaces:

• Lecture halls equipped with assistive audio systems.
• Adjustable desks and accessible laboratory benches.
• Quiet study areas for students needing reduced sensory stimulation.
• Computer stations equipped with accessibility software such as screen readers and magnifiers.

Health and Wellbeing:

• On-campus health clinic with accessible consultation rooms.

Procedures for requesting mental health related accommodations on campus/ students of determination

• The student fills out the health declaration form and indicates their disability and provides a medical report of their diagnosis in addition to the highlighted needs on campus.
• The head of student well-being or the counselor arranges a meeting with the student for review of the information provided and coordinates with related academic departments for application of the accommodation request.
• The head of student well-being or the counselor onfidentially communicates this medical information with the consent of the student in providing the services on campus with concerned members (faculty members, operations, etc.)
