Dr. Rawan Ahmed Mehanna is a Clinical Teaching Assistant in the Department of Clinical Sciences at Dubai Medical University College of Medicine. A graduate of Dubai Medical College for Girls, she earned her MBBCh degree in 2021 and has since dedicated herself to advancing clinical education with a focus on innovation, empathy, and experiential learning. In 2024, shecompleted the Advance HE ( UK ), Certification in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, further strengthening her expertise in medical education.
She is also a certified NIHS OSCE Case Designer ( Al Ain, 2024 ), enhancing her contribution to assessment and evaluation. Dr. Mehanna is an active member of the DMU Simulation Center team as a simulation educator and certified BLS Instructor, where she contributes to the design and facilitation of simulation sessions, skill-based learning experiences and essential BLS training. With a passion for simulation-based education and gamification, she strives to bridge theory with practice, empowering medical students to think critically and perform confidently in real clinical settings.
Known for her commitment to academic excellence and her student-centered approach, Dr. Mehanna continues to explore ways to enhance teaching methodologies and strategies. Her professional interests include neurology and neuroscience, alongside medical education research, with a continuous drive to inspire future clinicians through innovative learning.
Beyond academia, Dr. Mehanna is a passionate volunteer, with certified training from SANID and DCAS. She actively participates in community outreach and medical services volunteering at major sports championships. She believes in giving back to the community and inspiring her students to embrace compassion and service as integral parts of the medical profession
