The QAIE Department at Dubai Medical University (DMU) held a focused training workshop for its faculty members, led by Prof. Ibrahim Elsayed, Vice Chancellor – Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness. The session aimed to strengthen academic quality through improved understanding of Course File Submission and Annual Faculty Appraisal processes.
1. Course File Submission
Faculty were guided through the step-by-step process of submitting complete and well-organized course files.
Emphasis was placed on:
Including assessments, feedback, and grading criteria.
Ensuring alignment with DMU’s quality assurance standards.
Prof. Ibrahim stressed the importance of maintaining accurate and timely academic records for internal audits and external accreditation.
2. Annual Faculty Appraisal
The session detailed the faculty appraisal process, designed to evaluate and support professional growth.
Topics covered included:
Appraisal criteria and performance indicators.
Documentation of teaching, research, service and professional development activities.
Use of the QAIE Portal to submit appraisal forms and evidence.
The appraisal process aims to promote transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement among faculty.
The workshop introduced faculty to the key functionalities of the QAIE Portal, emphasizing the importance of accurate documentation and timely submissions. Prof. Ibrahim provided detailed guidance on both components, highlighting their role in enhancing academic accountability and institutional effectiveness.
