On May 1st, a group of DMU faculty members holding Advance HE fellow status participated in the Gulf Fellowship Network Forum 2025: Promoting Excellence in Higher Education. Advance HE (formerly the Higher Education Academy) is a UK-based charity and professional membership organization that promotes excellence in higher education. It advocates for evidence-based teaching methods and offers fellowships as professional recognition for university educators.
The event aimed to unite educators from the Gulf region who are recognized by the Higher Education Academy, providing a platform to exchange ideas, share success stories, and celebrate collective achievements. The agenda covered key topics and current issues in higher education, including teaching and learning with AI, continuous improvement and feedback, microlearning, maintaining academic integrity, curricular adaptation, and team-based learning.
A highlight of the event was the award presentation, where DMU’s College of Medicine was recognized for its excellence in advancing and supporting Advance HE fellowship. DMU is proud of its faculty’s accomplishments and remains committed to supporting educators who seek international recognition for their teaching practices.
