We are proud to share a milestone for Dubai Medical University (DMU) and everyone who has been part of our journey.

For the first time ever, DMU has been ranked in the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026. This rating evaluated 1,646 universities from 116 countries based on their real-world impact toward the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Additionally, being ranked in the top 200 universities in the world for economic empowerment and reducing inequalities is a remarkable result for a university in just its second year of existence.

This achievement did not begin in 2025. It began in 1986, when the late Haj Saeed Bin Ahmed Al Lootah — a man who believed that education was the greatest gift a person could give to their community — founded Dubai Medical College for Girls, the first institution of medical education for women in the entire Gulf region. In 1992, he added Dubai Pharmacy College, the first of its kind in the UAE. A firm believer in the importance of education, Haj Saeed Lootah built these institutions not for profit, but for people — guided by his conviction that business and knowledge exist fundamentally to serve humanity.

Today, as Dubai Medical University steps onto the global stage for the first time, we carry his vision forward. This Rating is not just a number — it is proof that what he planted four decades ago has grown into something the world recognizes.
