Dubai Medical University Hospital hosted the Certificate Distribution Ceremony on January 9, 2026, recognizing health professionals who successfully completed the Certificate of Competence in Health Professions Education (HPE). The program was delivered by Professor Hossam Hamdy, Professor of Surgery and Medical Education, and Professor Salah Eldin Kassab, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Program Director of the Master of Science in Health Professions Education, College of Medicine, Dubai Medical University.

The ceremony marked the completion of an intensive 40-contact-hour professional development program designed to prepare clinicians for their educational roles within Dubai Medical University’s integrated Academic Health System, reflecting the strong partnership between the University and its teaching hospital.

The event brought together physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, senior faculty, and institutional leaders, highlighting the strength of the academic–clinical partnership that underpins the Academic Health System. Participants were recognized for their commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, assessment practices, and curriculum design competencies.

The presence of Dubai Medical University leadership, including Professor Sherief Khalifa, Vice Chancellor for Academics Affairs and Dean of the College of Pharmacy; Professor Yousif El-Tayeb, Dean of the College of Medicine; and Professor Basil Amarneh, Dean of the College of Nursing, together with hospital leadership, underscored the strategic importance of this initiative in strengthening the Academic Health System. By equipping clinicians with advanced educational competencies, the program supports enhanced clinical training and safer, more effective patient care.
