On October 21, 2025, as part of the Fundamentals of Cosmetic Sciences course for 4th-year students, the College of Pharmacy at Dubai Medical University (DMU) organized an inspiring guest lecture by Dr. Halla Sheikh, Consultant Dermatologist and Aesthetic Specialist.
The session bridged theoretical learning with real-world applications in aesthetic and dermatologic sciences. Dr. Halla discussed the latest innovations in injectable and regenerative skin therapies—covering biostimulators, dermal fillers, botulinum toxin, and collagen stimulators—highlighting how these advancements integrate science, safety, and artistry to achieve natural, long-lasting results. Following her presentation, students engaged in a lively Q&A, raising personal skin concerns and receiving professional guidance directly from Dr. Halla.
Prof. Bazigha Abdul Rasool remarked, “The students’ feedback was truly exceptional—they found the session both highly informative and personally enriching. The interactive segment provided a valuable opportunity to engage directly with Dr. Halla, discuss real-life concerns, and receive expert, evidence-based advice.”
This curricular activity reflects DMU’s commitment to innovative, interdisciplinary learning—connecting pharmaceutical sciences with clinical dermatology and aesthetic practice—and empowers students to understand the evolving role of pharmacists in skin health and cosmetic care.
