Dubai Medical University College of Pharmacy Shines at the 12th GCC Pharmacy Congress

The College of Pharmacy at Dubai Medical University participated in the 12th GCC Pharmacy Congress, held on October 31– November 2, 2025, at Dubai, UAE. The event brought together international experts and pharmacy leaders to discuss cutting-edge advancements in pharmacotherapy, Pharmacoeconomics, pharmacogenomics, value-based care, leadership, entrepreneurship, digital health, and patient-centered practices.

The College of Pharmacy had a strong presence at the conference, with faculty and pharmacy students attending sessions on antimicrobial stewardship, transplant pharmacotherapy, pediatrics, oncology, and digital health innovations. Their active participation provided an invaluable opportunity to engage with global leaders in clinical pharmacy and gain insights into the latest research and best practices.

Additionally, Dr. Sahar Elnajjar. Clinical Lecturer and Preceptor at the College of Pharmacy – Dubai Medical University, presented her research titled “Impact of Post-Prescription Review on Therapeutic Appropriateness in Community-Acquired Pneumonia” at the *12th GCC Pharmacy Congress 2025*, highlighting the effectiveness of clinical pharmacist-led antimicrobial stewardship in a UAE hospitals.

Additionally, Dubai Medical University students presented two innovative research posters developed under the supervision of Dr. Naglaa Saad as part of their Herbal and Integrative Medicine summer internship program.

The first project, GastroHeal – An AI-Powered Herbal Solution for Synergistic Management of Helicobacter pylori, introduced an AI-guided herbal effervescent formulation combining licorice, turmeric, ginger, chamomile, and hibiscus to combat H. pylori infection while soothing and protecting the stomach lining.

The second project, Scentella™ – AI-Driven Prototype Regrowth Control Gel, showcased a natural, non-hormonal formulation enriched with aloe vera, niacinamide, and botanical extracts such as Cyperus and turmeric. Designed to gently reduce unwanted facial hair growth, it offers a safe, moisturizing, and sustainable skincare solution for women.
By combining academic excellence with practical training, the College continues to empower its students and faculty to contribute meaningfully to improving patient care and healthcare systems across the region.
