Dr. Youness Zidoun, Director of the Simulation Center, was recently invited to speak at the prestigious 7th Zhujiang Development Forum on Simulation in Healthcare, held in Guangzhou, China. The forum brought together leaders, educators, and innovators from across Asia and beyond to advance dialogue and share best practices in clinical simulation.
Dr. Zidoun delivered two keynote sessions during the event. His first, presented at the Forum of Directors, was titled:
“Designing Excellence: The Strategic Development of Clinical Simulation Centers.”
In this session, he outlined strategic frameworks for developing high-impact simulation centers, emphasizing leadership models, infrastructure planning, and long-term sustainability.
His second keynote, delivered during the Plenary Session, was entitled:
“The AI Paradox in Healthcare: Understanding the Lag in Medical Education.”
His presentation examined the growing divide between the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence and the pace of curricular integration in health professions education. Dr. Zidoun offered insights into responsible implementation and the need for urgent upskilling of academic faculty.
“It was a privilege to contribute to such a forward-thinking forum,” Dr. Zidoun noted. “The energy, commitment, and vision emerging from China’s healthcare simulation community is truly inspiring.”
The participation highlights our institution’s growing global engagement and leadership in the field of health simulation and medical education innovation.
