Prof. Naglaa Shehab, Associate Dean- Academic Affairs and Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the College of Pharmacy, Dubai Medical University, was invited as a guest speaker in a webinar hosted by Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 (UTA’45) in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event, held on June 21, 2025, was part of the ongoing academic exchange and collaboration under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two universities.
The topic of her guest lecture was titled “Development of New Technologies in the Phytochemistry in Herbal Medicines Using Nanotechnology”. The webinar attracted a wide audience of approximately 144 participants, including both faculty members and students from Indonesia. Prof. Naglaa explored the pivotal role of nanotechnology in enhancing herbal medicine formulation—emphasizing its contribution to improving bioavailability, refining pharmacokinetics, targeting cancer cells, and minimizing side effects.
The audience appreciated the informative and insightful session delivered by Prof. Naglaa, expressing strong interest in further academic and research collaborations between Dubai Medical University and UTA’45. Such webinars are excellent extracurricular opportunities for students, offering exposure to emerging technologies like nanoparticles and highlighting DMU’s growing capabilities in advanced pharmaceutical research and innovation.
