In a powerful demonstration of interprofessional collaboration and community service, students from Dubai Medical University (DMU) organized and delivered a successful Smoking Cessation Awareness Campaign at Century Mall on April 16, 2025. The event, held in partnership with Emirates Health Services (EHSUAE | مؤسسة الإمارات للخدمات الصحية under the guidance of faculty members, dedicated student volunteers from the colleges of pharmacy, medicine, and nursing engaged with mall visitors at an interactive health booth. Services offered included:

• Smoking cessation counseling using the evidence-based 5 A’s model (Ask, Advise, Assess, Assist, Arrange)
• Tailored educational handouts for individuals at various stages of readiness to quit
• Information on quit strategies, including nicotine replacement therapy and long-term support resources
• Free blood pressure and blood glucose monitoring

This initiative is part of DMU’s broader commitment to health promotion and experiential learning through community outreach.
Dr. Radwa Saad Al Tokhy, Physician and Public Health Education and Promotion Coordinator at the Dubai Public Health Center (EHS), expressed appreciation for the collaboration:
