DMU Pharmacy Students make an impact at the First Community Pharmacy Conference

On April 26, 2025, Dubai Medical University’s College of Pharmacy had a strong presence at the First Community Pharmacy Conference, organized by the IVPN-Network, FZ, LLE .

Our students actively participated by presenting four scientific posters and nine videos in the Medication Counseling Video Competition. We are proud to announce that DMU students won 2nd and 3rd place in the competition:

2nd Place: Asthma Care in Community Pharmacy: Counselling on Proper Diskus Inhaler Use — Rahma Nasir, Aya Al Bakour, Dania Abaji.

3rd Place: A Medication Management Guide for Parents of Children with Type 1 Diabetes — Eman Waheed Abbas.

In addition to student achievements, Dr. Mariam Diab, PharmD, BCPS, Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, delivered a talk on "Innovative Approaches to Teaching Community Pharmacy Skills in OTC Care", and Dr. Sherief Khalifa, Vice Chancellor and Dean of the College, moderated a key session on Digestive Management, Pain Management, and Hair Care.
