Dubai Medical University proudly marked a new milestone in its commitment to supporting and celebrating women with the launch of the Women’s Health & Empowerment Club on 10 February 2025. The initiative represents a significant step toward creating a dedicated platform by women, for women—a space where female students can learn, lead, and uplift one another.

The launch event brought together students, alumni, and faculty for an inspiring icebreaker program designed to spark meaningful conversations and build a supportive community. The session featured thought-provoking discussions, interactive activities, and motivational storytelling led by distinguished speakers, including:

• Dr. Hadiel AlKaiyasah – Colorectal Surgeon & DMU Alumna
• Dr. Lamis Abufool – OBGYN Resident, who shared “A Day in the Life” through a student-focused video
• Ms. Shireen Yousef –  Counselor, addressing mental health and personal growth
• Women’s Health & Empowerment Club Members, who presented a student-produced introduction video outlining the club’s mission and vision

Throughout the event, participants explored key themes such as women’s roles in healthcare, overcoming professional and personal barriers, mental well-being, and the importance of creating safe, encouraging spaces for female empowerment.

The launch marks the beginning of a transformative journey at DMU—one dedicated to amplifying women’s voices, fostering leadership, and inspiring change. With this new club, DMU reaffirms its commitment to cultivating an environment where women rise, lead, and empower one another.
