Dubai Medical University hosted its First IMS Innovation Showcase, organized by the Integrative Medicine Society (IMS) under the supervision of Dr. Naglaa Saad Ashmawy (IMS Faculty Supervisor) and Eng. Hessa Lootah (IMS AI & Innovation Supervisor). Society students from both of college of Pharmacy and college of Medicine presented six innovative herbal-based products to the wider DMU community, allowing students, faculty, and staff from across the university to explore the different uses of herbal drugs demonstrated by the IMS members.

The showcase featured a variety of formulations, including herbal effervescent tablets, functional herbal chocolates, essential-oil blends, body mists, and specialty herbal teas, reflecting the students’ creativity and growing expertise in integrative and evidence-based herbal product development.

The event also featured an engaging “Mix-Your-Tea” station, where IMS students guided attendees in creating personalized herbal tea blends while explaining each herb’s therapeutic benefits. The interactive experience attracted students, faculty, and staff from across the university community.

Commenting on the occasion, Prof. Sherief Khalifa, Vice Chancellor – Academic Affairs praised the students’ efforts, stating: “This showcase reflects the innovation and dedication of our students, who continue to elevate integrative medicine education at DMU.”

The IMS Innovation Showcase is set to become a platform celebrating student-led creativity and breakthrough ideas in herbal and integrative medicine.
