As part of Dubai Medical University’s ongoing commitment to strengthening student engagement and enhancing governance participation, DMU successfully conducted an online Leadership and Guidance Training Session on 26 March 2024 for student representatives, including batch leaders and Student Union members.

This virtual session, designed to support and empower student leaders, focused on building essential leadership competencies and deepening students’ understanding of their roles within DMU’s governance structure.

During the training, participants engaged in interactive discussions and presentations covering key areas such as:

• Leadership and teamwork
• Effective communication skills
• Roles and responsibilities within committees and governance bodies
• Understanding decision-making structures at DMU

Through real-time activities and collaborative exercises, student representatives explored what leadership means to them, reflected on shared responsibilities, and gained clarity on how they can effectively contribute to improving student life and academic processes.

This initiative ensures that student leaders are well-equipped to engage confidently, ethically, and responsibly in committee work. It also helps them understand the broader ethical, legal, and societal context surrounding their roles—ultimately enhancing the quality, integrity, and impact of student participation within DMU’s committee system.
