September 10, 2026, The College of Pharmacy at Dubai Medical University (COP–DMU) hosted a Faculty Development Session titled “JoVE: Accelerate Research and Education” on Thursday, 10 September 2026. The session was delivered by Dr. Ibrahim Selcuk, Director of Sales for the Middle East and North Africa at JoVE.
Dr. Selcuk introduced JoVE as a video-based platform for scientific research and education. He explained how peer-reviewed, step-by-step video demonstrations can help researchers master complex protocols, improve reproducibility, train laboratory members, and use time and resources more efficiently. He also outlined JoVE’s educational resources, including video textbooks and filmed demonstrations of scientific and clinical techniques.
A live demonstration showed faculty members how to search the platform, build customized playlists, create or edit quizzes, and embed videos and playlists in learning management systems. Dr. Selcuk also presented multilingual subtitles and voiceovers, downloadable article materials, and AI-supported tools that connect research literature with relevant JoVE videos.
Faculty members engaged in an interactive discussion on the availability of content in therapeutics and pharmaceutical sciences, the alignment of playlists with course outlines and reference books, and options for recommending new subject content. The discussion also highlighted the support available to help faculty integrate suitable resources into their courses and laboratory training.
