September 14, 2026 – Dubai Medical University – College of Pharmacy faculty, Dr. Naglaa Saad, Associate Professor, Assistant Dean – Quality & Accreditation and Head of the Integrative Medicine Department at the College of Pharmacy, Dubai Medical University, participated in the 25th International Congress of the International Society for Ethnopharmacology, held in Foligno, Italy, from 14–17 September 2026.

Dr. Saad contributed to the congress through an oral presentation entitled “Metabolomics-Guided Identification of Anticancer-Associated Metabolites in Indigofera oblongifolia and Indigofera colutea.” The study integrated UHPLC-MS metabolomic profiling, chemometric analysis, and cytotoxicity evaluation to investigate the relationship between metabolite composition and anticancer-associated activity in two Indigofera species collected from the UAE.

The congress brought together researchers and experts in ethnopharmacology and related disciplines from across the continents to discuss advances in medicinal plants, traditional medicine, natural products, and their pharmacological applications.
