
DMU faculty members Dr. Bassam Atallah and Dr. Ahmed El Ouweini participated in the 8th edition of the Middle East Heart Failure Conference, held in Dubai from January 16–18. The conference brought together regional and international experts to discuss the latest advances in heart failure research, clinical practice, and patient care.
Dr. Atallah, who also served as a member of the conference’s Scientific and Abstracts Committee, delivered a presentation on obesity management in Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF), highlighting emerging strategies and clinical considerations. Dr. El Ouweini presented on hyperkalemia management in heart failure, addressing practical challenges and evidence-based approaches to improving patient outcomes. The conference was also attended by faculty and students from the DMU College of Pharmacy and College of Nursing, reflecting the university’s strong engagement in academic, clinical, and professional development activities in the field of cardiovascular health.
