College of Nursing Faculty Member Represents Dubai Medical University at UAE Graduate Students Research Conference 2026

The College of Nursing at Dubai Medical University is proud to announce the participation of Dr. Haya Al Shawa in the UAE Graduate Students Research Conference (UAEGSRC26), hosted by the University of Sharjah.

Representing the College of Nursing, Dr. Al Shawa presented a research poster titled:

“Integrating Perinatal Depression Screening into UAE Mental Health Policy: A Position Paper.”

The poster highlighted the importance of early identification and screening of perinatal depression and emphasized the need to strengthen maternal mental health services through the integration of evidence-informed policies within the UAE healthcare system. The work contributes to ongoing discussions on improving maternal health outcomes and advancing mental health services for women and families across the country.

Participation in UAEGSRC26 provided a valuable opportunity to engage with graduate researchers, academics, healthcare professionals, and policymakers from across the UAE, fostering collaboration and the exchange of innovative ideas aimed at addressing pressing public health challenges.

Dr. Al Shawa expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to share this work and engage in meaningful scholarly discussions that support research excellence and community wellbeing.
