In May 2025, the College of Pharmacy at Dubai Medical University launched Practical Training in Sterile Compounding for 4th-year Pharmacy students. This two-weeks program, provided students with practical training in key areas including high-alert medications, biologicals, IV admixtures, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), and sterility standards.
This hands-on experience aims to better prepare students for clinical and hospital settings, where sterile compounding plays a critical role in patient care. The training enhances students’ practical skills and contributes to their professional readiness.
Student feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many emphasizing the value of hands-on practice. One student reflected:
“Thank you so much for organizing such a wonderful training session! It was a great learning experience, and I really enjoyed every part of it. The instructors were kind and helpful, and the hands-on practice made it all so much more exciting.”
This initiative reflects our commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and professional practice.
