Message from the Dean

Welcome to the College of Pharmacy at Dubai Medical University, an institution established by the eminent philanthropist, Hajj Saeed Bin Ahmed Al Lootah, in 1992.

Endowed with the Dubai Appreciation Award in 2004, our University is accredited and licensed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, UAE. The College of Pharmacy has been a pioneer in pharmacy education, with its Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) program receiving international accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) – International Services Program. Today, the College offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including the Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Post-Bachelor Doctor of Pharmacy (Postgraduate PharmD), Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) in Clinical Pharmacy, Master of Science in Drug Discovery & Development (MDD), and the Postgraduate Diploma in Drug Discovery & Development. These programs prepare graduates for advanced professional practice, research, leadership, and academic careers in pharmacy and the pharmaceutical sciences.

In reality, there is no better time to consider Pharmacy as a career than it is today! The pharmacist’s role in healthcare is undergoing continuous evolution and development, and the scope of pharmacy practice has expanded to include pharmacy informatics, vaccination, and independent prescribing, in addition to a plethora of opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry, including Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Pharmacoeconomics, Pharmaceutical Production, Quality Control, Drug Discovery & Development, and Research.

Today, as part of Dubai Medical University, our College continues to build on its legacy while embracing a future of innovation and excellence. Our students benefit from an integrated academic environment that promotes interprofessional education alongside their peers in the University’s Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, and other health disciplines.
