College of Medicine Students Present Research at UAE National Congress on NCDs 2026

College of Medicine students at Dubai Medical University (DMU) presented their research, titled “A Quasi-Experimental School-Based Evaluation of a Brief Genetic Literacy Intervention Among UAE Adolescents,” at the 1st UAE National Congress on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) 2026, held from 22–24 September 2026 at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City. The research was presented under the supervision of Dr. Ambreen Ansar and was selected for poster presentation as part of the congress’s scientific program.

The research explored genetic literacy and screening awareness among adolescents in the UAE, highlighting the importance of improving knowledge and awareness of genetics and health from an early age.

The congress brought together healthcare professionals, researchers, academics, and other stakeholders to exchange knowledge and discuss current approaches to the prevention, early detection, and management of non-communicable diseases.

The students’ participation provided a valuable opportunity to share their research with a wider academic and healthcare audience and engage with professionals working in the field of NCD prevention. Their presentation reflects the College of Medicine’s commitment to fostering student research, academic engagement, and active participation in scientific and healthcare forums.
