September 19, 2026- Dubai Medical University (DMU) was proud to endorse and participate in the 3rd Middle East Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy Forum, held in Dubai on September 19, 2026. The forum was also endorsed by the Saudi Society of Clinical Pharmacy and the Anticoagulation Forum, bringing together pharmacists, student pharmacists, and healthcare professionals for a day of focused scientific exchange and updates in cardiovascular pharmacotherapy.

Dr. Bassam Atallah, Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at the DMU College of Pharmacy, chaired the forum and contributed to the scientific program alongside Dr. Ahmad El Ouweini. The program featured presentations and discussions by local and regional experts covering important advances and contemporary approaches in cardiovascular pharmacotherapy.

A highlight of the forum was the College of Pharmacy Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy Competition, where DMU pharmacy students achieved outstanding results:

* DMU won 1^st place at the BPharm level.

* DMU achieved 3^rd place at the graduate MPharm/PharmD level.

* DMU graduate PharmD students Eisha Hamid and Daliya Abubakar secured 2^nd place in the poster competition for their project, “HFpEF Phenotypes and Guideline-Directed Medical Therapy in a UAE Tertiary Care Hospital.”

The competition was directed by Prof. Sathvik Sridhar, Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice, with support from PharmD Graduate Teaching Assistant, Ms. Rahma Nasir who is always a DMU BPharm Almnus.

The forum generated significant interest among pharmacists and student pharmacists, providing an important platform for professional engagement, knowledge exchange, and discussion of emerging developments in cardiovascular care.
