Dr Haya Al Shawa, a faculty member at the College of Nursing, participated in the 6th Emirates Health Economics Society Conference 2026 alongside distinguished scholars, healthcare professionals and policy experts.

In collaboration with colleagues from the University of Sharjah, Dr Haya presented a scientific e-poster titled “Scoping the Role of Cancer-Focused NGOs in Achieving Universal Health Coverage: Global Lessons and the UAE Experience.” The presentation explored how cancer-focused nongovernmental organizations can promote equitable access to cancer prevention, treatment and supportive care and contribute to universal health coverage.

The conference provided a valuable platform for exchanging research insights, strengthening professional collaboration and advancing discussions on health economics and public health.
