Dr. Shereena S. Lootah, MD, PhD has joined Dubai Medical University as an Assistant Professor. She holds an MBBCh. with Honors from Dubai Medical College for Girls, a Master’s degree in Medical Sciences (Microbiology and Immunology), and a PhD in Medical Sciences with a specialization in Molecular Biology from UAE University. She has experience in clinical medicine, medical research, and academia, including clinical practice at Rashid Hospital and DHA hospitals. Her research expertise includes molecular biology, immunology, cancer biology, cell culture, flow cytometry, and gene-editing techniques such as CRISPR-Cas9. Her doctoral research focused on the characterization of the long non-coding RNA PROINS in human pancreatic beta cells. She has also contributed to scientific publications and undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
