The College of Nursing participated in the 25th Inter-College Environmental Public Speaking Competition, held on 25 November 2025 at HCT Dubai – Academic City Campus. A group of first-year nursing students—Aisha Gullap Khan, Ayisha Zaib, Lmar Mowafaq, Yara Mowafaq, and Zainab Lal—represented the college in this prestigious event, supervised by Dr. Haya Al Shawa.
The team delivered an engaging presentation titled “Cosmetics & Clothes: The Environmental and Socio-Economic Footprint,” highlighting key sustainability issues in two major global industries. Their participation aimed to enhance environmental awareness, research skills, and public-speaking confidence while aligning with broader sustainability priorities and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The outcome of this experience was highly impactful, as the students demonstrated strong critical-thinking and communication skills and showcased the College of Nursing’s commitment to preparing environmentally conscious future healthcare professionals. Their outstanding contribution reflects the growing role of nurses in advocating for environmental health and responsible global citizenship.
We wish our nursing students continued success and many more meaningful contributions in the future.
