DMU’s Dr. Naglaa Saad Serves as External Examiner for MSc Thesis at the American University in Cairo

Dr. Naglaa Saad, Assistant Dean for Quality and Accreditation and Head of the Integrative Medicine Department at the College of Pharmacy, Dubai Medical University (DMU), served as an External Examiner for an MSc thesis defense at The American University in Cairo (AUC).

Dr. Saad participated in the examination of the MSc thesis entitled “Integrative Assessment of Body Composition and Micronutrient Status in an Adult Egyptian Population: A Functional and Biochemical Approach,” presented by Ms. Roua Aref Nouh as part of the Chemistry Graduate Program at AUC’s School of Sciences and Engineering. The thesis defense took place on February 3, 2026, and was conducted online via Zoom.

The examination committee included faculty members from AUC, namely Dr. Anwar Abdelnaser, Associate Professor at the Institute of Global Health and Human Ecology, who served as Advisor; Dr. Tamer Shoeib, Professor and Acting Chair of the Department of Chemistry, Biology, and IGHHE, who served as Co-Advisor; Dr. Fayrouz Sakr Ashour, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Global Health and Human Ecology, who served as Internal Examiner; Dr. Naglaa Saad, Associate Professor of Pharmacognosy, who served as External Examiner; and Dr. Hatem Tallima, Assistant Professor and Graduate Program Director in the Department of Chemistry at AUC, who served as Moderator.

Dr. Saad’s participation as an external examiner reflects her recognized expertise in foodchemistry, pharmacognosy, and related biochemical and nutritional sciences, as well as the College of Pharmacy’s continued commitment to academic excellence, scholarly engagement, and regional and international academic collaboration.
