As part of the World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) campaign, Dubai Medical University (DMU) successfully conducted a professional development workshop titled “Practical Tips in Antimicrobial Stewardship: How to Plan, Implement, and Monitor Effectively.” and 6CPD points accredited by DHA on November 22, 2025.

The full-day event brought together pharmacists, clinicians, and healthcare leaders from across the UAE to discuss practical strategies for implementing and sustaining Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs (ASPs) in alignment with the UAE National Action Plan for Combating Antimicrobial Resistance (NAP-AMR 2025–2031).

The workshop featured interactive lectures, clinical case discussions, and collaborative exercises aimed at strengthening pharmacists’ leadership in antimicrobial optimization. Sessions were delivered by distinguished faculty including Dr. Ahmed El Ouweini, Dr. Jenny John, Dr. Irfaan Akhter, and Dr. Sahar Elnajjar
