Dr. Arina Ziganshina, MD, PhD, MHPE, SFHEA is an Assistant Professor, Head of the Examination and Assessment Unit at Dubai Medical University Chair of Assessment Committee at the College of Medicine. She earned her MD and PhD in Clinical Medicine from Kazan State Medical University (Russia), and an MHPE from Gulf Medical University.
Previously at Kazan State Medical University, she conducted clinical teaching and research spanning medical education and pediatric gastroenterology, while contributing to curriculum design, and building assessment systems.
Dr. Ziganshina has presented internationally, including AMEE and the Canadian Conference on Medical Education (2021), and the Middle East & North America Higher Education Leadership Forum, International Educational Conference, Abu Dhabi (2024) and WFME World Conference (2025). Her scholarship focuses on assessment, internationalization, and educational technologies.
She leads Journal Clubs and CPD events on assessment, ed-tech, and internationalization, and serves as a peer reviewer (e.g., BMC Medical Education). A member of the EmiratesMEDs assessment sub-taskforce, she contributes to UAE competency-based guidelines, advancing medical education policy and practice.
