College of Nursing Appreciates Students’ Participation in the Sandooq Al Watan Initiative

The College of Nursing is proud to recognize the outstanding participation of its students in the Sandooq Al Watan initiative, a not-for-profit philanthropic organization under the authority of Erth Zayed Philanthropies. Sandooq Al Watan supports programs, initiatives, and events that sustain the core and economic values of the Emirati National Identity.

As part of this meaningful initiative, our talented students developed SAND, an innovative smart health project that aims to protect lives through technology. The project introduces a smartwatch specially designed for elderly individuals and those who experience sudden medical conditions, such as epilepsy.

The SAND smartwatch automatically detects emergencies and sends instant alerts to ambulance services and family members, sharing the patient’s location and medical information. This innovation supports the UAE’s vision for a smart, accessible, and human-centered healthcare system, enhancing emergency response efficiency and saving lives.

The College of Nursing extends its heartfelt appreciation to the students and their supervisor for their creativity, dedication, and commitment to improving community health. Their work reflects the college’s mission to inspire innovation, compassion, and excellence in healthcare practice.
