The College of Nursing at Dubai Medical University (DMU) proudly led an interprofessional community engagement event in collaboration with the College of Medicine (COM) and the College of Pharmacy (COP) to mark World Diabetes Day on November 12, 2025, at Dubai Medical University Hospital (DMUH).

The initiative aimed to raise awareness about diabetes prevention and promote healthy lifestyle practices among students, staff, and the wider community. Activities included health screenings (blood glucose, blood pressure, and BMI), free medical consultations, and educational booths on diabetes management and prevention.

Nursing students played a leading role by organizing interactive educational sessions and health-promotion games, while pharmacy students highlighted non-pharmacological and herbal approaches to diabetes care.

The event concluded with a raffle draw, awarding glucometers to encourage self-monitoring and diabetes awareness.

This initiative showcased strong interprofessional collaboration across DMU’s health colleges and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to community service, health promotion, and teamwork in healthcare education.
