
Abu Dhabi, October 26, 2025 — Dr. Bassam Atallah, Associate Dean-Clinical Affairs at DMU College of Pharmacy participated as a speaker at the Middle East Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Conference, held in Abu Dhabi on October 25–26, 2025. The event was endorsed by the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) and brought together leading regional and international experts in cardiovascular medicine.
Dr. Atallah delivered an insightful presentation on “Anticoagulation in Temporary and Durable Mechanical Circulatory Support”, emphasizing the complexities of managing such patients and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach. He particularly highlighted the crucial role of pharmacists in optimizing anticoagulation strategies and improving patient outcomes.
The conference also featured a panel discussion on conducting research in advanced heart failure, during which Dr. Atallah shared valuable perspectives drawn from his clinical and academic experience.DMU College of Pharmacy students attended the conference, gaining exposure to cutting-edge developments in heart failure management and transplantation — reflecting DMU’s commitment to integrating academic learning with real-world medical innovation.
