The Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness (QAIE) Department at Dubai Medical University (DMU) recently conducted a focused workshop on the Staff Appraisal Process, aimed at strengthening staff understanding and ensuring the effective completion of the Staff Appraisal Form.
Dr. Eslam El Nebrisi, Director of the QAIE Department, opened the session with a welcome address, emphasizing the strategic importance of performance appraisals in fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development throughout the institution.
The workshop provided staff members with clear, step-by-step guidance on completing the appraisal form. Key areas covered included the appraisal criteria, documentation of responsibilities and achievements, and the procedures for submitting the form via the QAIE Portal. A live demonstration offered hands-on experience with the portal, helping participants navigate its features confidently and efficiently.
An interactive Q&A session followed, where staff had the opportunity to engage directly with the QAIE team, ask questions, and clarify any uncertainties regarding the appraisal process. This open dialogue ensured that all attendees left with a solid understanding of expectations, timelines, and best practices.
This initiative reflects DMU’s ongoing commitment to promoting transparency, institutional effectiveness, and excellence in staff performance management. Staff are reminded to complete and submit their appraisal forms in accordance with the guidelines and deadlines shared during the session.
