The College of Pharmacy at Dubai Medical University is pleased to share that the fourth and final session of the Preceptor Certificate Program took place on January 12th, 2025.
The full-day in-person session, titled “Taking Precepting to Another Level Through Case-Based Application,” provided participants with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they had gained during the previous preparatory sessions. Throughout the day, 28 preceptors from 11 institutions worked collaboratively in small groups, tackling complex case scenarios that addressed real-world preceptor-learner challenges.
We were honored to have Dr. Craig D. Cox from Texas Tech University and Dr. Bassam Atallah from Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi as our speakers and facilitators for this session.
This program spanned four sessions in total. The journey began in September 2024 with the first session, “Start of Preceptor Journey – Self Discovery,” delivered by:
The second session, held in October 2024, was titled “Start of Rotation – Learner/Site Preparation” and was delivered by:
The third session, held in November 2024, focused on “The Feedback Experience: One Step at a Time” and was delievered by:
At the conclusion of the final session, preceptors were awarded Certificates of Program Completion, recognizing their dedication to enhancing their preceptorship skills.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the instructors who contributed to delivering this program and to the the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) and to the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) for their collaboration and support.
This program’s success serves as the foundation for many more initiatives to come. We are excited to continue offering similar programs in the future, further developing our preceptors and contributing to the growth of pharmacy education and practice, both in the UAE and beyond!
