DMU signs a Memorandum of Collaboration with Geneva University

Dubai Medical University was pleased to welcome Professor Karl Blanchet, Professor of Humanitarian Public Health at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Geneva, and Director of the Geneva Centre of Humanitarian Studies, on September 18, 2026.

The visit marked the signing of a Memorandum of Collaboration between Dubai Medical University and the University of Geneva, representing an important step toward strengthening academic and professional cooperation between the two institutions.

The collaboration will focus on advancing humanitarian education, research, and professional development. It will explore the integration of humanitarian health topics into relevant academic syllabi and curricula, as well as the development of specialized humanitarian programs for graduates and healthcare professionals.

The partnership will also create opportunities for joint training, knowledge exchange, academic initiatives, and professional programs in humanitarian health and related fields. These efforts aim to equip students and graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively to health challenges in humanitarian and emergency settings.

Professor Blanchet’s visit provided an opportunity to discuss future areas of collaboration and reinforce the growing relationship between Dubai Medical University and the University of Geneva. Through this partnership, both institutions reaffirm their commitment to advancing education, research, and healthcare while supporting the development of future professionals in humanitarian health.
