The Academic Support Department’s Learning Resource Center Unit has successfully launched the Own-A-Book Event andinvites all DMU students, faculty, and staff to take home a book of their choice and add it permanently to their personal collection.

The initiative features a wide range of books with a strong focus on medicine, pharmacy, and nursing, making them highly beneficial for students across colleges. These academic resources support learning, research, and professional growth throughout the university community.

Alongside medical titles, the collection also includes a limited number of general reference books, such as atlases, dictionaries, and encyclopedias, offering additional options for participants.

Participation is simple and open to everyone. Individuals who choose a book are only required to fill in their basic details at the time of collection. No borrowing or return process is involved—the books are theirs to keep.

The DMU Library encourages all members of the university to take part in this ongoing event and make the most of this opportunity to build their personal libraries and support lifelong learning.
