Dr. Hajer and Dr. Umama represented Dubai Medical University, College of Medicine at the 2nd MENA Congress for Metabolism in Health and Disease, held in Dubai on October 17–18, 2025. The annual congress, organized by the MENA Rare Diseases Organization, brought together leading international experts to discuss the latest updates in the fields of diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome, the microbiome, and anti-aging research.

The DMU faculty presented their scientific poster titled “Genetic Determinants of Obesity,” which explored the genetic factors contributing to obesity and their implications for public health and personalized medicine.
Out of all the posters presented at the congress, three were selected as winners, and DMU’s poster was proudly among the top three award-winning entries.

The achievement highlights the university’s commitment to advancing research excellence and contributing to global discussions on metabolic health.
